A right is something no one can punish you for
Definition of a right: A right is an activity whereby you have the 'right' to expect not to be punished for doing so. If something is not detrimental to others then it is a right. All non-crimes are rights... apart from where the government is concerned. The government has a higher obligation... for example it is not a right for the government to cancel elections... but as individual we have a perfect right to make decisions without consulting others. A right is something where we are doing nothing wrong and it is consistent to expect that we will not be punished. If we do not have a right to do something then doing it will result in repercussions such as a prison sentence.
