A definition of a time-waster
As well as being arrogant or insane there is another category of person who is irritating. This is the person who is like an arrogant person in that they are silent... they are not making any complaint (like an insane person) but they are still a problem. Neither do they hold a false assumption like the true arrogant person. These are people who are content with a bad situation... who do not see problems and accordingly do not vote to change them. These people we cannot reason with because they hold no false assumptions and they cannot be (ostentatiously) ignored because they are not saying anything. They are a bit like the horse of the well-known idiom which will not drink. (They see no reason to.) The horse (even though it is silent) is a problem for us because it fails to realise the truth of something. If we have sufficiently reasoned with such people we no longer owe them our time. We must go on with our own lives without spending too much time on these blind people. Such people are time-wasters.
