Atheists can be happy

Since god is generally perceived to be good then the absence of god must be bad... and so then atheists are perceived as depressed and morose. There are similarities between this kind of atheism and Buddhism which generally posits that life is suffering and that we must make the best of a bad and godless situation. But the absence of god doesn't necessarily indicate that life is suffering... it might be possible for atheists to be happy and to enjoy life.

A godless life can be enjoyable.

We should not talk with the blind

In everything which follows in this post I will be using the term ‘blind’ to signify a philosophical refusal to see the truth and not in terms of the physical ailment.

We know there are certain facts in the world otherwise there would be nothing. We can think of these facts as physical laws. They are things which are different from the general nihilism of much of philosophy. Some facts (or truths) are obvious and some are difficult to notice. It can be frustrating to talk with people who cannot or refuse to see the truth as you see it… and whom are unable to contradict your interpretation of reality. In some sense we are wasting our time if we talk too much about a truth we believe but which is unseen by other people. Eventually all truths emerge and reveal themselves so it is perhaps the best use of our time to talk only about things which are seen by both participants in a conversation or (if we do not want to discuss positive truths) to talk about negatives and nihilism.

We know from Wittgenstein that 'Whereof one cannot speak, thereof one must be silent.' so then if we are talking with someone who does not see the truth as we see it then we are wasting our time and we should be silent with this person.

It is a waste of time to talk with people who cannot see.

Everything is one thing

We know from the paradoxes of Zeno that motion is impossible in the sense of something happening in relation to another thing. This means that separate things cannot have relative motion and so they are not separate and everything is part of the same thing. Since relative to oneself other things must have motion to exist (which is impossible) then there cannot be things which we are not also a part of. We are then a part of everything else.
